Version Support Policy
API7 Enterprise follows a structured release model that gives enterprise users a predictable support lifecycle and a clear upgrade path.
Versioning
API7 Enterprise uses the MAJOR.MINOR.PATCH versioning scheme:
- Major version — Introduces significant changes, including major new features and breaking changes.
- Minor version — Introduces new features and enhancements in a backward-compatible manner.
- Patch version — Typically reserved for bug fixes and security patches, though it may also introduce backward-compatible enhancements such as new plugins or configuration parameters.
Long-Term Support (LTS)
API7 Enterprise designates selected versions as the Long-Term Support (LTS) releases. Each LTS version carries a defined support lifecycle that provides security updates and maintenance guarantees. The latest LTS release is listed first in the table below.
During its support lifecycle, an LTS release receives:
- Security patches addressing vulnerabilities.
- Bug fixes for stability and reliability.
- Critical updates necessary for production safety.
No new features are introduced after the active support period.
Current LTS releases
| LTS Version | Support Duration | Start Date | End Date |
|---|---|---|---|
| 3.10 | 3 years | June 1, 2026 | May 31, 2029 |
| 3.9 | 3 years | January 6, 2026 | January 5, 2029 |
| 3.8 | 3 years | April 22, 2025 | April 21, 2028 |
Standard releases
All versions other than the LTS release are considered standard releases and do not carry a formal lifecycle policy. Users running a standard release should upgrade to the latest available release to benefit from recent fixes and improvements.
Upgrading
For an LTS upgrade, choose the route for the source release. The selector identifies direct self-service guides and combinations that require a staged or API7 Support-assisted procedure. Each direct guide applies only to the source and target versions it names.
For patch and adjacent minor-version upgrades, see Plan an API7 Gateway Upgrade.
