Roles
Create System Role
Default system roles may not meet your needs, so you need to create custom roles.
- Role names cannot be duplicated.
- System roles can operate on all clusters equally.
- Multiple roles with exactly the same permission set are allowed.
- Log in to the API7 Enterprise dashboard.
- In the top navigation menu, click on Access Control.
- In the left menu bar, click on Roles.
- In the System Roles tab, click on the Create button.
- Fill in the form.
Some permissions may be linked. Selecting one permission will automatically select other linked permissions.
- Click on Submit button.
Configure System Role
Edit the attributes of the custom system role.
- After configuration, the permissions of all users who have been authorized with the role will also change.
- Log in to the API7 Enterprise dashboard.
- In the top navigation menu, click on Access Control.
- In the left menu bar, click on Roles.
- In the System Roles tab, click on Configure button of the corresponding role.
- Edit the attributes of the role.
- Click on Submit button.
Delete System Role
Stop using a custom system role and delete its record.
- Default system roles cannot be deleted.
- Deletion is irreversible, please use with caution.
- It cannot be deleted when users are still authorized with the role.
- Log in to the API7 Enterprise dashboard.
- In the top navigation menu, click on Access Control.
- In the left menu bar, click on Roles.
- In the System Roles tab, click on Delete button of the corresponding role.
- Click on Confirm button.
Create Cluster Roles
The default cluster roles may not meet your needs, so you need to create custom roles that only apply to the current cluster.
- Role names cannot be duplicated.
- Cluster roles exist only in the current cluster and cannot operate on other clusters.
- Log in to the API7 Enterprise dashboard.
- In the top navigation menu, click on Access Control.
- In the left menu bar, click on Roles.
- In the Cluster Roles tab, click on Add Role button for the corresponding cluster.
- Fill in the form.
There is a linkage relationship between some permissions. Selecting one permission will automatically select other linked permissions.
- Click on Submit button.

Edit the properties of the custom cluster roles.
- After the configuration is successful, the permissions of all users who have been authorized for the role will also change.
- Log in to the API7 Enterprise dashboard.
- In the top navigation menu, click on Access Control.
- In the left menu bar, click on Roles.
- In the Cluster Roles tab, click on the plus button on the left side of the corresponding cluster to expand the cluster role list.
- Click on Configure button for the corresponding role.
- Edit the properties of the role.

Delete Cluster Role

- You cannot delete a role if there are users authorized for the role.

- In the Cluster Roles tab, click on the plus button on the left side of the corresponding cluster to expand the cluster role list.
- Click on Delete button for the corresponding role.
