etcd Resources

Create etcd Resource

info

You need to set up the etcd cluster first before entering its information on the API7 Gateway side.

Using multiple etcd resources is recommended for:

  • The configuration data of the gateway for different businesses needs to be strictly isolated and cannot be mixed with etcd.
  • The data of the gateway test cluster and the gateway production cluster need to be strictly isolated.
  1. Log in to the API7 Enterprise dashboard.
  2. In the top navigation menu, click on Cluster Management .
  3. In the left menu bar, click on etcd Resources .
  4. Click on Create button.
  5. Fill in the form.
  6. Click on Add button.

Configure etcd Resources

Edit the name, description, endpoints, authentication, and mutual TLS information of the etcd resource.

If the authentication username/password is not updated in a timely manner or if the certificate expires and is not updated, the following consequences may arise:

  • If the data plane is not restarted, it can continue to operate with cached configure information, without affecting online business.
  • The control plane cannot modify the gateway configure information, and the gateway cluster configure information cannot be viewed or modified on the console.
  • Once the data plane is restarted, all configure data will be lost, and the gateway will fail to start, thus affecting online business.
  1. Log in to the API7 Enterprise dashboard.
  2. In the top navigation menu, click on Cluster Management .
  3. In the left menu bar, click on etcd Resources .
  4. Click on Configure button of the specific etcd resource.
  5. Edit the properties of the etcd resource.
  6. Click on Submit button.

Delete etcd Resources

The etcd resources are no longer used in conjunction with the API7 Gateway.

  • Deleting etcd resources will not destroy the etcd cluster itself or disconnect the data plane from etcd. It only deletes the connecting information between the control plane and etcd, resulting in the inability to view and modify the gateway cluster configure information on the API7 dashboard. Your online business will not be interrupted.
  • etcd resources deletion is not reversible.
  1. Log in to the API7 Enterprise dashboard.
  2. In the top navigation menu, click on Cluster Management .
  3. In the left menu bar, click on etcd Resources .
  4. Click on Delete button of the specific etcd resource.
  5. Click on Confirm button.
