Upstream

Create Upstream

Create an upstream when you need to forward a route/API to a specific service.

  • Each route/API must select an upstream and cannot be empty.
  • An upstream can be paired with multiple routes/APIs.
  1. Log in to the API7 Enterprise dashboard.
  2. In the top navigation menu, click on Cluster Management .
  3. In the left menu bar, click on Cluster List .
  4. Click on View button of the specific cluster.
  5. In the left menu bar, click on Workspaces .
  6. Click on View button of the specific workspace.
  7. In the left menu bar, click on Upstream.
  8. Click on Create button.
  9. Fill in the form.
  10. Click on Submit button.

Validate: The new upstream record can be viewed within the upstream list.

Configure Upstream

Configure the properties of an upstream.

Editing an upstream will affect all routes/APIs associated with it.

  1. Log in to the API7 Enterprise dashboard.
  2. In the top navigation menu, click on Cluster Management .
  3. In the left menu bar, click on Cluster List .
  4. Click on View button of the specific cluster.
  5. In the left menu bar, click on Workspaces .
  6. Click on View button of the specific workspace.
  7. In the left menu bar, click on Upstream.
  8. Click on Configure button corresponding to the upstream.
  9. Edit the properties of the upstream.
  10. Click on Submit button.

Delete Upstream

Delete the upstream which is no longer in use.

All routes/APIs associated with the upstream must be deleted first.

  1. Log in to the API7 Enterprise dashboard.
  2. In the top navigation menu, click on Cluster Management .
  3. In the left menu bar, click on Cluster List .
  4. Click on View button of the specific cluster.
  5. In the left menu bar, click on Workspaces .
  6. Click on View button of the specific workspace.
  7. In the left menu bar, click on Upstream.
  8. Click on More button of the corresponding cluster and select Delete from the drop-down menu.
